In his artworks, the highly tactile factor is guaranteed by technique and the use of high visual impact colours allows him to conjoin informal traits with contents far from being abstract. The bond between the artist and his homeland becomes tight and recalls astral elements as witnesses of the promise of fidelity to his origins. Giovanni Cafarelli
Was born in Matera. Following his studies at the Art High School in Salerno and at the Fine Arts Academy of Naples, he returned to Potenza where he founded the “Associazione Arti Visive” and the magazine “Perimetro” which had great success in Italy. The artist has shown his artworks in many Italian cities, such as Rome, Milan, Turin and Matera; in 2011 he participated in the Biennale di Venezia, in the Italian pavilion.
is not merely a place: it is an avant-garde idea generated and nourished in an Italian province, quite far from huge capitals.
