Born in Potenza, where he lives and works as an artist and graphic designer, Salvatore Comminiello studied art in his hometown and debuted on the arts scene at a young age.
His artistic research combines the experimentation of synthetic materials (acetate, plexiglas, polyurethanes and other types of plastic) with a play on symbols as elements of his own, original visual language. Through colour and signs, his compositions convey meaning and appear to lead to a spiritual dimension beyond the limits of space and time.
He has displayed his works extensively in solo exhibitions in public venues, museums, and art galleries, most recently at the Porta Coeli International Art Gallery in Venosa and at the Rosso Passione contest in Sardinia as a finalist.
At the XIth Florence Biennale, he is displaying Controra (the early afternoon hours), a diptych that ideally represents the gate leading to the apartments of King Solomon, whom Makeda, the Queen of Sheba, wishes to encounter in Aniello Ertico’s video, Scirocco alla controra.
